• Description: Renowned for its substantial size and strength, Dendrocalamus asper is a tropical clumping bamboo used in construction, biomass production, and edible shoots. It produces large, tender shoots ideal for culinary markets.

• Ideal Growing Conditions: Thrives in tropical and subtropical climates with ample rainfall, requiring well-drained, fertile soils and full sun. Hardy in USDA zones 9b-12, tolerates temperatures as low as 25°F.

• Size: Reaches heights of 50-60 feet with culm diameters of 4-7 inches. Suitable for planting 300 - 250 plants per acre, yielding $14K-$25K annually per acre at maturity​

• Description: A variety of Phyllostachys nigra, Henon Bamboo is distinguished by its tall stature and grayish-green culms. It is valued for construction and ornamental purposes, along with fresh shoots. 

• Ideal Growing Conditions: Adaptable to a range of climates, preferring temperate regions. Grows best in well-drained soils with full sun to partial shade. Hardy in USDA zones 7-10.

• Size: Typically grows between 50 to 80 feet tall, with culm diameters of 3 to 5 inches.

• Description: Phyllostachys edulis, known as Moso Bamboo, is one of the most commercially important bamboo species, especially in China. It is utilized for timber, paper production, and edible shoots.

• Ideal Growing Conditions: It prefers temperate climates with mild winters. It requires well-drained, loamy soils and thrives in full sun to partial shade. It is hardy in USDA zones 7-10.

• Size: Can reach heights up to 100 feet, with culm diameters of 5 to 6 inches.

• Description: Known as Giant Timber Bamboo, Bambusa oldhamii features thick, straight culms, ideal for construction, fencing, and privacy screens.

• Ideal Growing Conditions: Best suited for subtropical to tropical climates, thriving in USDA zones 9-11. Prefers fertile, well-drained soils and full sun.

• Size: Grows 50-60 feet tall with culm diameters of 4-5 inches, offering robust yields for various uses.
